Program Name: The Every Child Program

Grant Amount: $20,000

Recipient Name: The Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is excited to congratulate our client, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, for successfully receiving $20,000 from Arizona Complete Health’s Community Reinvestment Program for their Every Child Program. Funding will help provide equitable access to the Museum for young learners through: 1) Reduced-price admission for Title I field trips, 2) Summer Camp Scholarships, and 3) Special Night of Play for children with disabilities. Developed to reach low-income children and their families, the Every Child program is considered successful each time a child and caregiver who could not afford the Museum’s admission price gain access to the Museum.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: Outside of school, low-income students have limited opportunities for academic enrichment, healthy living guidance, and stimulating engagement opportunities. Without financial assistance enabling their participation, children from low-income families are subject to sustaining historical achievement gaps, perpetuating a cycle of poverty. The Children’s Museum of Phoenix’s Every Child program ensures that all children can benefit from the Museum’s play-based programming, not just those whose parents can afford the admission price – helping to reduce racial disparities in educational outcomes. Each year 50,000 children and their caregivers benefit from this program, igniting a community-wide passion for learning, imagination, and discovery.
