Team

Experience and Qualifications

Since our inception, Good Works Grant Writing has had one driving mission – Securing funds for the greater good. To achieve that mission, we have assembled a diverse team of experienced grant professionals. Together, we have more than 300 years of experience working in the nonprofit and public sectors, including serving in such diverse positions before joining the Good Works team as: Executive Director, President, Chief Development Officer, Director of Development, and Principal Consultant.

Good Works Team Approach

Teamwork is an integral part of our process. When you partner with us on an ongoing basis, you’re hiring a team of grant professionals who are dedicated to helping your organization find the right prospective funders and who are dedicated to crafting a compelling narrative for your proposals. Below is a list of each team member who is focused on your account when you work with us on retainer.

The Good Works Grant Writing Team Roster:

ACCOUNT MANAGER

A seasoned grant writer serves as your main point of contact at Good Works Grant Writing. Account managers are responsible for maintaining your grants calendar, meeting with you to discuss prospects and proposals, and managing the Good Works proposal process. The account manager writes the first draft of many proposals, submits online proposals on your behalf, and prepares mail and email submissions for you.

GRANT SPECIALIST

The grant specialist is responsible for ensuring all aspects of your proposal are in motion and up to date.  The duties of a grant specialist include, downloading the questions for grant proposals, conducting research for your program areas, maintaining program files, and often writing initial proposal drafts. The grant specialist is a crucial teammate who gets the “next” proposal started even as your current proposal is being finalized for submission.

COPY EDITOR

Your proposals’ first reader is Good Works Grant Writing’s copy editor. Our copy editor is a veteran development professional and former executive director of a community foundation. Our copy editor’s experience reviewing grant applications sharpens your draft proposal before it is submitted to you for review.

PROSPECT RESEARCHER

Finding the right prospects is just as important as writing compelling copy. Good Works Grant Writing has dedicated prospect researchers.

EXECUTIVE COUNSEL

Bethany Taylor, Good Works Grant Writing’s president, provides expert guidance for your grant process. Meeting weekly with your account manager, she consults on your prospects and plans. She also provides a second edit on proposals with an ask amount of $25,000 or more, provides training to the grant writing staff and, upon request, is available for monthly meetings.
