Good Works Grant Writing specializes in prospect research and grant writing. We also conduct peer review of grant proposals. Our experienced team works diligently to find prospective funders and craft compelling narratives which not only highlight the impact of your organization’s work in the community but also secure important funding to advance your organization’s work.

Who We Work With

Good Works Grant Writing works with nonprofit organizations from a variety of areas within the nonprofit sector. Our clients work in the fields of the arts, healthcare, human services, education, and economic development. While we focus our efforts strictly on serving nonprofit organizations, we work with nonprofits of sizes and scopes of operations.

Prospect Research:

Based on our many years of conducting prospect research for our clients, Good Works Grant Writing has created a comprehensive research system that finds, prioritizes and presents quality funder prospects for our clients. Whether a nonprofit is also looking for grant writing services or can handle their grant writing in house, Good Works partners with them to compile a list of strong prospective grant funders. We use a prospect rating matrix when conducting the prospect research that allows us to rank prospects across six categories. By presenting prospects in rank order and detailing why each prospect achieved the rank it did, we are able to help our clients prioritize their grant submission efforts. Good Works Grant Writing utilizes multiple grants databases for our research and provides our clients with the opportunity to request specific funders be included in the research. This service concludes with the creation of a 12-month solicitation calendar.

Grant Writing:

Grant funding is a critical revenue stream for the majority of nonprofit organizations. Grant funding can launch new programs, help capital campaigns succeed, and provide important annual support of nonprofits’ programs. A key component is securing grant funding is submitting persuasive proposals with prospects and meaningful progress reports with donors that compellingly demonstrate the important work their donations will fund and/or have supported. Good Works Grant Writing drafts persuasive copy for our clients to share with their prospects and donors, including, but not limited to, proposals, letters of intent, progress reports and cases for support. We also help them manage their grants program, including strategizing on prospect cultivation, tracking progress towards goals, and maintain the solicitation and reporting calendars.

Grant Proposal Review & Recommendations:

Good Works Grant Writing provides peer review services to help nonprofits polish internally-drafted proposals. Whether the proposal is drafted by a seasoned, on-staff grant writer or a volunteer trying out their grant writing prowess for the first time, Good Works’ grant writing experts are available to help strengthen clients’ particularly important proposals. Our staff will review your document, not only providing recommendations on how to clarify language but also alerting clients on when information is incomplete and would leave the official grant reviewers with questions or concerns. We require a minimum of two business days to complete the review process.
