Recipient Name: Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is excited to congratulate our client, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, on being selected to receive a generous grant from Phoenix Children’s Hospital! This funding will directly support the Children’s Museum of Phoenix’s traveling exhibit, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit, in reaching approximately 102,165 Maricopa County children and their caregivers during the exhibit’s four-month run (September 2026 – January 2027). With PCH as the exhibit’s presenting sponsor, the Museum exhibit will take children to the happy, safe neighborhood of Daniel Tiger where they can actively participate in the story and learn important skills. Designed for young children and their families, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit encourages interaction, collaboration, imagination, and emotional exploration.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: Making its Phoenix debut at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit will provide an immersive, hands-on learning experience that transforms the beloved PBS KIDS series into opportunities for children and families to actively explore, collaborate, imagine, and grow together. Through whole-body play, role-playing, music-making, literacy activities, and problem-solving challenges, the exhibit will strengthen critical social-emotional competencies including empathy, emotional regulation, self-expression, cooperation, persistence, and self-efficacy. Consistent with research demonstrating that lessons from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood can influence children well beyond their preschool years, the exhibit will help young learners develop lifelong skills while ensuring equitable access to high-quality educational experiences during the Museum’s Power of Play expansion. Through the Museum’s Every Child Program, approximately 40,000 children and caregivers, including low-income families, children with special needs, and school groups, will receive free or reduced-cost opportunities to experience the exhibit and the joy of play-based learning.
