Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is excited to congratulate our client, Arizona Burn Foundation, for being selected to receive a $50,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities! During 2025, this generous foundation grant will help 250+ burn survivors access Arizona Burn Foundation’s Helping Others, Promoting Empowerment (HOPE) Services, which begin the moment a burn patient is admitted to the Arizona Burn Center, and continue until the burn survivor and their family is independently thriving. In the initial crisis, HOPE Services offers short-term emergency needs, including lodging, transportation, financial assistance, meal vouchers, and emotional support to burn survivors’ families. Upon hospital discharge, Arizona Burn Foundation provides long-term transitional services focused on helping burn survivors thrive in their post-injury lives.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: Through their four 2025 HOPE Services, Arizona Burn Foundation’s client care team contacts each patient within 24 hours of hospital admittance and then evaluates the needs of each patient. Monetary assistance includes meal payments, lodging assistance, transportation funding; mortgage/rent/utility assistance, medications and medical equipment payments, funeral or cremation contributions, and therapy payments. Mental health support assistance is offered soon after the burn survivor is stabilized in the hospital setting and after discharge. Transitions from the hospital to work/school/home are carefully handled and a plan for after care begins.
