Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is elated to congratulate our client, Future for KIDS, for being awarded a $50,000 Touchdown Grant from Fiesta Bowl Charities for their 2022-2023 Sports Camps and A Day to Play Events. A Touchdown Grant will help Future for KIDS to engage 1,010 total youth (ages 7-12) in three large-scale, one-day Sports Camps (a Youth Sports & Fitness Camp, Basketball Camp, and Soccer Camp), as well as A Day to Play events across 17 program sites. Camps teach youth new skills, promote healthy habits, and expose them to the importance of higher education; A Day to Play events are where youth and mentors meet outdoors at a neighborhood park to engage in fun activities and games, such as volleyball, soccer, and shadow tag. Fiesta Bowl funding will support Future for KIDS’ free Camps and A Day to Play events, building youth’s athletic skills, and healthy habits, fostering teamwork, and teaching life skills, and providing opportunities for participants to meet positive role models (e.g., coaches).

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: Future for KIDS’ free Sports Camps and A Day to Play events serve youth from low-income backgrounds who may have endured multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences, striving to help underserved youth overcome adversity and give them the tools for pursuing bright futures. Challenging social and physical activities and new experiences are completed alongside encouraging adults to foster a positive self-image and encourage future participation in sports. Funding for Future for KIDS’ 2022-2023 Sports Camps will provide 500 children and youth (ages 7-12) with one-day, large-scale camps: Youth Sports & Fitness Camp, Basketball Camp, and Soccer Camp. Camps teach youth new skills and expose them to the importance of higher education. Funding for Future for KIDS’ 22-23 A Day to Play Events for each of their 17 program sites will engage 510 children and youth (ages 7-12) in free community-anchored, fitness-focused events.
