Recipient Name: Act One

Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is thrilled to congratulate our client, Act One, for being awarded $60,000 from the Molly Blank Fund over two years for their Virtual Reality (VR) Arts Immersion Field Trip Program for Title I schools. Participants in grades 5-12 explore different mediums of art while wearing VR headsets, after which they engage in age-appropriate discussion with their teacher and the Act One VR Specialists. The VR experiences and discussion points are designed to incorporate the Arizona Department of Education Standards. Funding from the Molly Blank Fund will help Act One to further expand their VR Field Trip Program into rural Title I schools throughout the state.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: Arts Immersion is a researched-based, teacher-designed, VR field trip program that aligns to the Arizona State Standards and uses cross-curricular connections to meet multiple objectives, including STEM, art, music, and Social and Emotional Learning. This mobile arts program brings virtual reality arts field trips to classrooms across the state of Arizona, reducing the financial, geographic, and logistical barriers for schools to access the arts. VR Field Trips are offered free to students in grades 5-12 at Title I schools. Act One is particularly committed to bringing the VR Field Trips Program to rural Title I schools that do not have easy access to in-person arts experiences, and has a goal of providing arts education access through VR to 20,000 Arizona youth attending Title I schools during the 2022-2023 school year.
