This foundation grant will provide capital support to cover renovation costs of expanding the footprint and offerings of Benevilla’s “Benefitness Adaptive Gym.” Aligning with Benevilla’s mission to enrich lives, the Benefitness Adaptive Gym is designed to empower older adults and individuals with disabilities. Benevilla’s overall goals for their 2025 Benefitness Renovation Project are to: 1) Increase member capacity in their boxing classes from 8 to 15; 2) Increase the number of simultaneous personal training sessions offered from 1 to 5; and 3) Open renovated areas to serve members by May 18, 2026.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: With a $130,000 foundation grant, Benevilla will expand their Benefitness Adaptive Gym by repurposing their existing kitchen and office spaces into a new, state-of-the-art boxing and training area. This renovated space will allow Benevilla to:

  • Expand Class Sizes: Allow up to (15) participants per boxing session, doubling the number of individuals who can benefit from their boxing classes.
  • Optimize Equipment/Personal Training Sessions: The expansion will include new wall-mounted speedbags, padded flooring for practicing safe fall recovery, and other tools designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, and mobility.
  • Serve More Members: Benevilla’s goal is to serve at least 270 members annually, ensuring all members have access.
