Grantor Name: The Board of Visitors
Program Name: Diagnostic Services for Children in the Northwest Valley
Grant Amount: $60,000
Recipient Name: Arizona Autism United (AZA United)
Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is excited to congratulate our client, Arizona Autism United (AZA United), on being selected to receive a $60,000 grant from The Board of Visitors! This generous foundation grant will provide support for AZA United’s launch of a Diagnostic Clinic at their newly renovated North Valley Center (NVC) in Glendale, Arizona. Notably, this clinic will also feature a unique Diagnostic Training Program, which will help develop a pipeline of providers in this specialty. The NVC will build AZA United’s capacity to address a pervasive gap in diagnostic services for families living in the Northwest Valley region of Maricopa County.
Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: This grant will directly support the start-up costs associated with opening AZA United’s new Diagnostic Clinic, which will provide a wide array of diagnostic assessments for individuals of all ages, as well as their Diagnostic Training Program, which will build local capacity to address the pervasive shortage of diagnostic providers long-term. Through the Diagnostic Clinic at the North Valley Center, AZA United aims to achieve the following goals: (1) Increase access to diagnostic services for children in the Phoenix-Metro area; and (2) Train a new generation of diagnostic providers. Within a one-year grant period, AZA United anticipates reaching 100 children annually with diagnostic services at the NVC alone. Based on their projections, the added capacity of the NVC will double the number of children AZA United can provide with diagnostic evaluations by the end of 2027. And notably, the NVC will also offer counseling/psychotherapy and family support services.
