Overview of Use of Funds: Good Works Grant Writing is delighted to congratulate our client, the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (the Foundation), for being awarded $100,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust for their 2022-2023 ElevateEdAZ program. Funding will help the Foundation to expand ElevateEdAZ to 13 total schools serving 26,000 students in Maricopa County. Aiming to create equitable access to education and workforce pathways that lead to high-wage, high-demand careers, ElevateEdAZ offers opportunities for upward economic mobility with the potential to make lasting positive impacts on generational cycles of poverty. ElevateEdAZ connects students with employers, increases attainment of industry-recognized credentials and early college credit, and provides impactful work-based learning.

Overview of Grant Objective/Impact: ElevateEdAZ aims to develop and sustain robust, vertically-aligned, education-to-workforce learning pathways and develop a more qualified, diverse workforce by braiding high school education curriculum with economic and workforce priorities. Programming addresses social determinants of health for youth, especially from low-income backgrounds, leading the way to better educational, economic, and health outcomes for students. The Foundation’s multi-pronged approach is based on Work-Based Learning (WBL), an educational strategy that effectively assists students in becoming college and career ready while connecting them to businesses in a field related to their career interests. WBL is linked to positive academic outcomes, and for minority students especially, higher college enrollment. A $100,000 grant from Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust will assist the ongoing work of ElevateEdAZ by supporting program salaries, consultant services, and software and data analytics.
